How difficult is it to change a power steering pump in a Pontiac Grand Prix?

Assuming the common 6th gen. 97-03 style...if it's a 3.1 liter, not too bad, pump is right on top...if it's a 3.8 liter, bit of a pita, at the passenger/rear of engine, down low.How difficult is it to change a power steering pump in a Pontiac Grand Prix?99-2003 4 out of 5 wrenches on difficulty 2004-2008 5 out of 5



IDK about older grandprix's



and in the future include more detail if you want a good answer. ex, year, Motor, etc.How difficult is it to change a power steering pump in a Pontiac Grand Prix?Unless you are a pretty good mechanic, this is a job best left to a mechanic at a good shop.....make sure you get a rebuilt pump with a warranty...much cheaper than a new one....and dont dare go to a Pontiac dealer for this repair...they will rip you off on price......Pep Boys would be a good place to go........How difficult is it to change a power steering pump in a Pontiac Grand Prix?-release the tension from the belt or even take the serpentine belt off

-remove the lines

-remove the bolts that hold the ps pump to the brackets

-then pull it out
