How to change a power steering pump on a 2001 chevy malibu?

How do I go about this? How to change a power steering pump on a 2001 chevy malibu?Power steering pumps require one special tool. for you ,you ll need the GM pulley puller $29 at northern or autozone. you cant get the pump out of the bracket without removing the pulley. after you have the right tools its gravy . loosen the belt remove the pulley ,pump. install the new pump ,use the tool to press the pulley back on and reinstall the belt. Now you have to bleed the air out and that can be messy. leave the filler lid off after putting in new fluid and turn the wheel from lock to lock several times. if you didnt let any air in the lines during your repair you should be good to go. Its not as simple as it sounds. Be ready for some cussing . pressure wash your engine and put a large drip pan under the car before you start and at least youve saved some grief . have some fun, if you screw up the worst thing is you tow your car to the shop.
